Tours

We enjoy welcoming all to our brewery. We take them very personally and do the tours ourselves. We pride ourselves in the fact that we will always have at least one of following on hand; the MD, Head Brewer or the National Sales Manager, mostly at least two of them, or if you are really unlucky sometimes all of them are there. More often than not, we have our very own stragglers from our brewery pubs with their pretence that they are all here to help... we even have our very own work experience trainee – Roger, who will hopefully graduate one day... just not this day!

Truth is, we want to meet you as much as you want to meet us. What better way to do this than over a few beers in a brewery. The small charge covers the costs as well as the duty (that we still have to pay even though technically beer consumed should be thought of as ‘samples’) as well as local cheese and cold meets to keep everyone going.

It’s the tour with more

For groups of friends or colleagues, or from a club or pub, our brewery tour always proves to be an enjoyable and memorable occasion.

Unless previously arranged, the tour starts at 7.00pm and lasts until about 10.00pm. It includes several short talks on Lancaster Brewery whilst on a guided tour of our brewery chambers with return visits to the fully licensed internal Pub “the Heartwick Grippenhearl Arms.” During the tour, we have a history of the brewery, an explanation of the raw ingredients, the brewing process, our products and generous tastings of our beers.

Tours are by appointment only. They take place on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday evenings, and are for groups of 12 to 30 people. We have had more, which was plenty of fun, but maybe too many to keep together. Please note that transport is not provided, but we can recommend local taxi firms.
